5.6 magnitude earthquake rocks Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities

PESHAWAR: Residents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Malakand, Lower Dir, Hangu, Kohat, Bajaur, Swat, Buner, Shangla, and North Waziristan, reported feeling tremors from a recent earthquake.

The tremors were also felt in Swabi, Upper Dir, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi.

The earthquake registered a magnitude of 5.6, with its epicenter in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 73 kilometers.

Following the quake, residents reportedly recited Kalma Tayyiba as they evacuated their homes.

No casualties or property damage have been reported so far.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have advised people to remain alert for aftershocks.
