Pakistan strongly condemns attack on UN peacekeepers in Sudan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the attack on United Nations peacekeepers in Kadugli, Sudan, which killed six Bangladesh personnel and left several others injured, the Foreign Office said in a statement.

The statement expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the government and people of Bangladesh and extended Pakistan’s full solidarity with the families of the deceased peacekeepers.

It highlighted the vital role of UN peacekeepers worldwide in conflict prevention, civilian protection, and promoting peace, adding that Pakistan salutes their sacrifice for peace and stability.

Pakistan also called for an immediate investigation into the attack and urged that those responsible be brought to justice.

The Foreign Office confirmed that Pakistan will continue to work alongside UN Security Council members and the international community to ensure the protection and safety of peacekeepers.
