AJK polls: PML-N, PPP and other candidates lead in early results

MUZAFFARABAD: The counting of votes is underway and unofficial results are emerging after polling concluded for the third phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections on four constituencies.

Polling was held in four constituencies of Bagh and Haveli districts, with results being announced as counting continues.

In LA-14 Bagh-1, unofficial results from 212 out of 214 polling stations showed Sajid Iqbal of Awami Dast-o-Bazu leading with 40,309 votes, while Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan of the Muslim Conference was in second place with 19,029 votes.

In LA-16 Bagh-3, unofficial results from 84 out of 186 polling stations showed Sardar Mir Akbar Khan of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ahead with 9,243 votes, followed by Sardar Qamar Zaman Khan of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) with 7,144 votes.

In LA-15 Bagh-2, unofficial results from 45 out of 213 polling stations showed PPP candidate Zia Qamar leading with 5,200 votes, while PML-N’s Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas was second with 2,244 votes.

In LA-17 Bagh-4, unofficial results from two out of 199 polling stations showed PML-N candidate Chaudhry Mohsin Aziz in the lead with 443 votes, while PPP’s Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore secured 344 votes.

The final results will be announced by the relevant election authorities after completion of the counting process.
