MUMBAI: Indian actress Reem Shaikh has said she cannot envision spending her life with someone from another religion, citing her strong personal beliefs.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actress shared her views on interfaith relationships when asked whether falling in love with someone from a different religion could complicate matters.

Responding candidly, Reem said she would not be able to pursue such a relationship, describing herself as deeply religious.

She noted that she offers five daily prayers and has also started observing fasts, adding that it would be difficult for her to marry outside her faith.

Talking about love, the actress revealed she has reasons to be skeptical, mentioning that she has witnessed divorce within her family and seen relationships break down around her.

She further said that love is essential even for building a connection with God, adding that without love, it becomes difficult to form meaningful relationships whether with the divine or with people.

It is worth noting that Reem Shaikh comes from a mixed-faith background, with her mother being Hindu and her father Muslim.
