MUMBAI: Rumours circulating about a fallout between Tabu and Akshay Kumar over alleged scene cuts in their film Bhoot Bungalow have been dismissed by director Priyadarshan.

Speculation had suggested that Tabu was upset after some of her scenes were removed from the film and that she would not have signed the project had she known earlier.

However, Priyadarshan rejected these claims, calling them baseless.

“I don’t know who is spreading such negative stories and why. Tabu is not upset at all,” he said, adding that he has worked with the actress on multiple films and would have been aware if there were any issues.

The director emphasized that all creative decisions, including editing, are solely his responsibility. He also clarified that Akshay Kumar never interfered in the editing process or requested any scene cuts.

Priyadarshan further criticized those spreading rumours, urging them to refrain from creating unnecessary controversy.

Bhoot Bungalow, released on April 17, marks another collaboration between Priyadarshan and a star-studded cast including Tabu, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has shown steady performance at the box office.

The film is also among the last appearances of veteran actor Asrani, best known for his iconic role as the jailer in the classic film Sholay. He passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84.
