MARYLAND: American actress Kaylee Hottle, best known for portraying Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong, has died in a traffic accident in the U.S. state of Maryland, according to local authorities. She was 18.
Police said the crash occurred in the Ijamsville area, with preliminary investigations suggesting that speeding may have been a contributing factor.
Hottle, who was deaf, rose to international recognition for her performance in Godzilla vs. Kong. Her father confirmed her death in a video message delivered in American Sign Language.
Authorities said the 19-year-old driver of the vehicle was injured and taken to a hospital, while another passenger escaped the crash without injuries. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
