LAHORE: Former Pakistan Test fast bowler and current bowling coach Umar Gul has expressed confidence that Hyderabad Kingsmen can deliver an impressive performance in the second eliminator of the Pakistan Super League Season 11.

Sharing his views, Umar Gul said an exciting contest is expected between Hyderabad Kingsmen and Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday night.

He noted that Hyderabad Kingsmen have made a strong comeback after suffering four consecutive defeats earlier in the tournament, building solid momentum heading into the crucial knockout clash.

Umar Gul added that even an individual player’s strong performance can significantly impact the overall team result.

He highlighted that along with improved batting, Hyderabad Kingsmen’s bowling unit has also shown notable progress, making them a competitive side in the high-stakes encounter.

Usman Khan breaks record for most centuries in PSL history

KARACHI: Hyderabad Kingsmen batter Usman Khan has made history in the Pakistan Super League by becoming the player with the most centuries in the tournament’s history.

The milestone came during a PSL 11 match against Multan Sultans, where Usman Khan played a heroic innings of 101 runs off just 47 balls while chasing a target of 214 runs.

This century marks his fourth in the PSL, taking him to the top of the all-time list for most hundreds in the league.

Usman Khan has featured in 33 PSL matches, having previously scored one century in 2023 and two in 2024 before achieving this latest feat.

Powered by his match-winning knock, Hyderabad Kingsmen successfully chased down the 214-run target with three balls to spare, securing a memorable victory.

KARACHI: In an exciting contest of HBL PSL 11, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen by 4 wickets at the National Bank Stadium.

After winning the toss, Peshawar Zalmi opted to field first. Hyderabad Kingsmen posted 145 runs, with Kusal Perera scoring 58 and Marnus Labuschagne contributing 27. Peshawar’s Sufiyan Muqeem and Fakhar Ahmed picked up four wickets each.

Chasing 146, Peshawar Zalmi reached the target on the last ball, losing six wickets. Babar Azam top-scored with 46 runs, while Kusal Mendis and Michael Bracewell added 27 and 25 runs respectively. Hyderabad’s Saim Ayub took two wickets for 19 runs.

Before the toss, PSL CEO Salman Naseer released a symbolic peace dove, with Babar Azam, Marnus Labuschagne, and match referee Roshan Mahnama present, recognizing Pakistan’s role in the recent US-Iran ceasefire efforts.
