Rawalpindi signs New Zealand’s Ben Sears for PSL 11

ISLAMABAD:  Rawalpindi has secured an agreement with New Zealand pacer Ben Sears for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Sources report that Sears is currently with New Zealand A in Sri Lanka and will join the Rawalpindi squad tomorrow once permission is granted. The 28-year-old fast bowler will be making his PSL debut.

With injuries to Zaman Khan and Naseem Khan, Rawalpindi is hopeful that Sears’ inclusion will strengthen the squad. Injured pacer Naseem Shah remains part of the team, with his next test scheduled for April 15.

Rawalpindi’s next PSL fixture is set for April 10 in Karachi.

Islamabad United outclass Rawalpindi in one-sided PSL match

LAHORE: Islamabad United secured a comfortable seven-wicket win over Rawalpindi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) match played at Gaddafi Stadium.

After winning the toss, Islamabad United opted to field first, inviting Rawalpindi to bat. Rawalpindi posted 156 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs, with Kamran Ghulam scoring 50 and Dyan Forrester contributing 44 runs.

Other notable contributions came from Abdullah Fazal (23) and Daryl Mitchell (19), while Mohammad Rizwan managed just 2 runs.

For Islamabad United, Richard Gleeson, Faheem Ashraf, and Salman Irshad claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Islamabad United comfortably chased down the 157-run target in just 15 overs, losing only three wickets. Sameer Minhas led the charge with an impressive 70 off 36 balls, while Haider Ali (26) and Mark Chapman (24*) remained unbeaten. Devon Conway scored 6, and Mohammad Faiq added 19 runs.

The convincing victory highlights Islamabad United’s strong form in the tournament.

Karachi Kings beat Rawalpindi by 5 wickets

LAHORE: Karachi Kings secured their third consecutive victory in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, defeating Rawalpindi by five wickets in a high-scoring encounter at Gaddafi Stadium.

After winning the toss, Karachi Kings opted to field first, inviting Rawalpindi to bat. Rawalpindi posted a competitive total of 197 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs, with Daryl Mitchell scoring 65 and Sam Billings contributing 58 runs.

For Karachi Kings, Hasan Ali claimed three wickets while Khushdil Shah picked up two.

Azam Khan Stars in Successful Chase

In reply, Karachi Kings chased down the 198-run target in the final over, losing five wickets along the way. The chase was anchored by Azam Khan, who scored 74 runs, while captain David Warner added a solid 50.

With this victory, Karachi Kings maintained their unbeaten run in the tournament, registering their third straight win in PSL 11.
