Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce tie the knot in star-studded New York ceremony

Taylor Swift

NEW YORK:  After months of online speculation and viral countdowns, singer Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have reportedly married in a lavish ceremony in New York City, drawing widespread attention from fans and media outlets.

The couple exchanged vows on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, according to reports, in a high-profile event attended by more than a thousand guests and numerous celebrities.

The Empire State Building was illuminated specially for the occasion, while digital billboards outside the venue displayed the message “JUST MARRIED T & T.”

The guest list reportedly included high-profile figures such as Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez, among others.

Media reports said the extravagant ceremony cost an estimated $20 million and was staged with production elements resembling a music video-style announcement.

Separately, British media reports claimed the couple had also pledged $26 million in charitable donations to various organizations ahead of the wedding.

Swift had previously said in a public appearance last year that she envisioned a large and elaborate wedding, a prediction that appears to have materialized in the star-studded event now circulating widely on social media.

Reports fuel speculation over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding plans

Reports fuel

NEW YORK: Speculation surrounding the wedding plans of pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce has intensified following reports that the couple may be nearing the final stages of preparations for their marriage.

Recent media reports have suggested that the engaged couple could soon tie the knot, although neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly announced a wedding date.

The renewed attention comes after Swift made a surprise appearance at the Tight End University summer camp organized by Kelce. Her attendance drew praise from participants and organizers, including NFL player George Kittle, who described the singer as friendly, down-to-earth and generous with her time.

Kittle said Swift interacted warmly with attendees and spent time speaking with his mother during the event, despite what he described as a busy period for the couple.

Further speculation emerged after New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani appeared to reference a future Taylor Swift wedding while discussing major events expected to take place in the city. The remark quickly sparked discussion online about a possible date and venue.

Several entertainment reports have since suggested that Swift and Kelce could marry on July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden in New York, though no official confirmation has been provided by the couple or their representatives.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on Aug. 26, 2025. Since then, the high-profile couple has remained one of the most closely followed celebrity pairings, with fans eagerly awaiting news about their wedding plans.

Joe Alwyn reportedly moves on with new romance as Taylor Swift prepares for wedding

Joe Alwyn

Actor Joe Alwyn appears to have entered a new chapter in his personal life, as reports suggest he is now in a relationship, while his former partner Taylor Swift is preparing to marry her fiancé Travis Kelce.

The 35-year-old actor, known for keeping his private life away from the spotlight, was reportedly seen with his girlfriend at The Dover in London on Sunday, April 26.

According to an anonymous source cited by celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi, the outing may have been a birthday celebration for his partner.

While the identity of his girlfriend has not been officially confirmed, earlier reports have linked Alwyn to a non-industry woman from Latin America, with some speculation also mentioning director Lorene Scafaria.

Alwyn, best known for Conversations With Friends, has largely maintained a low-profile romantic life, particularly following his high-profile six-year relationship with Taylor Swift, which ended in 2023 and kept him under intense public scrutiny.

Recent reports also suggested renewed attention on his private life after he was seen attending a performance of his play The Lady from the Sea at the Bridge Theatre in London, alongside Scafaria, fueling further speculation about his relationship status.

LOS ANGELES: Pop superstar Taylor Swift leads this year’s American Music Awards (AMAs) with eight nominations, including artist of the year, song of the year for “The Fate of Ophelia”, and album of the year for “The Life of a Showgirl,” organizers announced on Tuesday.

Swift, who holds the record for the most AMA wins in history, received six nominations in the previous year’s awards.

Her globally successful Eras Tour, launched in 2023, became the highest-grossing concert tour of all time. She has also been widely recognized for re-recording her early albums, a move credited with inspiring artists to seek greater control over their music rights.

Close behind, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, SOMBR, and Morgan Wallen each secured seven nominations. Carpenter is also competing for artist of the year, while Dean and SOMBR received their first-ever AMA nominations, including new artist of the year.

Among other notable contenders are the vocalists behind Netflix’s Oscar-winning animated musical “KPop Demon Hunters.” EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami earned nominations for “Golden,” a hit track nominated for song of the year, best vocal performance, and best pop song.

A win in any category would mark the group’s first American Music Award.

Winners will be decided by fans and announced at a live ceremony hosted by actress and singer Queen Latifah in Las Vegas on May 25. The show will air live on CBS and Paramount+.

Nominations were determined based on Billboard chart performance, streaming figures, album sales, radio airplay, and social media engagement.

Taylor Swift enters conversation for Country Music Hall of Fame induction

Taylor Swift enters

Taylor Swift has already conquered the music industry with multiple Grammys, record-breaking tours, and global influence but one major honor still awaits: a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Now that 2026 marks her eligibility under the Hall’s 20-year rule, discussions have shifted from whether she will be inducted to how soon it might happen.

Swift first emerged in 2006 with her debut, quickly making an impact with early hits like “Tim McGraw” and “Teardrops on My Guitar.” At just a teenager, she helped introduce a new generation to country music before eventually becoming one of the biggest global pop stars.

Despite her crossover success, her country roots remain a major part of her legacy. She has earned 14 Grammy Awards and built a catalog that continues to dominate charts, reinforcing her lasting influence on the industry.

Industry opinions are divided on her potential induction timeline. Some believe she could achieve a rare first-ballot induction, while others think the Hall may prioritize long-standing country veterans before honoring a star still active at the peak of her career.

Swift’s past recognition offers a strong indicator of her standing—she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility, reflecting how quickly her contributions have been acknowledged.

Her storytelling style also helped reshape country music, expanding its reach far beyond traditional audiences and pushing the genre onto a global stage.

Whether 2026 becomes the year of her induction or not, one thing is certain: Taylor Swift’s place in country music history is already secure—the only question left is when the Hall of Fame will make it official.

New York: American pop superstar Taylor Swift has once again been declared the world’s most popular recording artist, extending her remarkable streak and surpassing her own previous records.

The 36-year-old singer secured the top position for the sixth consecutive time in the annual global ranking released by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which evaluates worldwide music sales and streaming performance.

Swift previously topped the list in 2014, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024, while the honor went to South Korean band BTS in 2020 and 2021.

2025 Rankings and Recent Success

In the 2025 list, Swift retained the number one spot, followed by prominent artists including Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, and Billie Eilish.

The latest recognition adds to the success of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, released in October 2025.

The album’s lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, topped charts for several months, while her new track Opalite reached number one in the United Kingdom and secured a prominent position on major US music charts.

Swift’s continued dominance reflects her enduring global appeal and consistent commercial performance across streaming, sales, and international markets.

Taylor Swift texts leak expose strains in longtime friendship

Taylor Swift

LOS ANGELES:  Friendship tensions between pop superstar Taylor Swift and longtime friend Blake Lively have come to light following the public release of their private text messages.

The exchanges emerged as part of legal documents related to Blake Lively’s ongoing case against Justin Baldoni, revealing that the friendship had been strained before the public was aware.

In one message, Lively wrote, “I don’t have a particular reason to ask, but for some reason I feel like I should—are you okay?” She added, “I feel like I’ve been a bad friend because I’ve been sad for months and only focused on myself, but during this time, you not only supported me wholeheartedly but also forgave me for being in that state.”

Swift responded approximately an hour later, expressing her own struggles. “I feel exhausted in every aspect of my life, and for the past few months, I’ve sensed that your way of talking to me has changed,” she wrote.

She continued, “I miss my cheerful, slightly sarcastic, straightforward friend who used to speak to me, and I know you face criticism from all sides, which is why you try to explain everything excessively. That’s why a little distance came between us, and you don’t need to apologize—just come back, please.”

In another message, Lively acknowledged Swift’s concerns, admitting that she sometimes exaggerated simple matters out of fear of being misunderstood. She reflected, “Good people, my lifelong friends, quietly drifted away, which left me feeling very scared.”
