Massive sinkhole swallows road in Shanghai, no casualties reported
Shanghai: A deep sinkhole suddenly opened on a road in Shanghai, swallowing everything in its path, according to international media reports.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Kaixun Road and Lian Road in the Minhang District on February 12, triggered by a line leak at a metro construction site. The road collapsed abruptly, engulfing nearby objects in the process.
Municipal authorities quickly cordoned off the area and launched an operation to clear debris and secure the site.
Fortunately, no casualties or financial losses have been reported. However, CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, attracting widespread attention and sparking discussions among online users.
