Abrar-ul-Haq in news again over viral donation controversy
KARACHI: Singer Abrar-ul-Haq, who had previously stepped away from politics, is back in headlines after a new viral video emerged showing him in a heated discussion with a female journalist over donations collected during one of his concerts.
In the video circulating on social media, Abrar-ul-Haq can be seen debating with journalist Safina Khan, repeatedly referencing the earlier viral clip that sparked public attention. Safina Khan clarified that neither she nor her team attended the concert and that the viral footage was circulated by someone present at the event.
Abrar-ul-Haq defended himself, calling Safina Khan and other journalists supporters of a political party and explaining the donation situation.
He stated that he personally purchased land and built a hospital, and the donations were meant for that purpose. “The money seen in the viral video was donated for the hospital. At that moment, I could not deposit it in a bank, so I kept it in my pocket,” he explained.
The video has been widely shared with various captions, with fans supporting Abrar-ul-Haq while some critics have labelled it a matter of ego.
Later, Safina Khan shared another video showing the singer and the journalist resolving the misunderstanding, concluding their interaction on a positive and cordial note.
