Parineeti Chopra’s husband Raghav Chadha joins BJP

Indian politician Raghav Chadha, husband of Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra, is facing intense criticism on social media following reports of his departure from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and alleged move to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to Indian media reports, the Rajya Sabha member saw a sharp decline in his social media following after the announcement. Within 24 hours, more than one million users reportedly unfollowed him across platforms.

Data indicates that Chadha had around 14.2 million followers on the day of the announcement, which has since dropped to nearly 12.5 million reflecting a loss of approximately 1.7 million followers.

Reacting to the development, Sanjeev Jha, an AAP MLA and party spokesperson, said party supporters and volunteers had begun unfollowing Chadha online, expressing disappointment over what they described as a betrayal.

Reports further suggest that several AAP lawmakers have also joined the BJP, intensifying political debate, while social media users continue to criticize Chadha, with some labeling him a “traitor” and “opportunist.”
