NEW YORK: Speculation surrounding the wedding plans of pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce has intensified following reports that the couple may be nearing the final stages of preparations for their marriage.

Recent media reports have suggested that the engaged couple could soon tie the knot, although neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly announced a wedding date.

The renewed attention comes after Swift made a surprise appearance at the Tight End University summer camp organized by Kelce. MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Dia Mirza has revealed that Salman Khan made a surprising prediction more than two decades ago that left her alarmed at the time.

Speaking on filmmaker Farah Khan’s show, Mirza recalled an incident from the set of the 2002 film Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, where she starred alongside Salman Khan.

During the conversation, Farah Khan suggested that Mirza should work with Salman again. Mirza jokingly replied that the actor now prefers to work with younger actresses. Farah countered by noting that Salman is also working with actress Chitrangda Singh.

Mirza then shared that during the filming of Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Salman told her, “One day, you will play my mother on screen.” She said she was only 19 years old at the time and was shocked by the remark.

“I was terrified when he said that,” Mirza recalled with a laugh.

Madonna reveals financial, creative obstacles behind shelved film

LOS ANGELES: Pop icon Madonna has revealed for the first time why her long-planned biopic was ultimately shelved, ending years of speculation surrounding the high-profile project.

In a recent interview, the singer said work on the film continued for nearly four years. According to Madonna, the first two years were devoted to writing the script, while the following two focused on budgeting, casting and other pre-production work.

She said the project was eventually abandoned because of disagreements over financing and the scale of the production.

“My life has been filled with extraordinary experiences and struggles, and telling that story properly required a substantial budget,” Madonna said. She added that the production company was not fully comfortable with the project’s cost and scope, preventing it from moving forward.

Madonna said filming the movie in Serbia was considered as a way to reduce expenses, but the studio was unconvinced by the proposal. Over time, she said, she began to feel that the studio lacked confidence in her creative vision.

After her agreement with Universal Pictures ended, Netflix expressed interest in adapting the story into a television series rather than a feature film. However, legal and financial complications also hampered that effort.

Madonna said reclaiming the rights to the script developed with Universal would have required a significant financial investment, forcing the project to start over. She added that the search for a suitable showrunner for the proposed series lasted several months but failed to produce a breakthrough.

The biopic was acquired by Universal Pictures in 2021 after a competitive bidding process. Madonna was attached as co-writer and director, and actress Julia Garner was cast in the lead role in 2022.

Despite years of preparation, the project has yet to come to fruition.

Reports claim Giancarlo Esposito embraces Islam

RIYADH: A claim circulating in Saudi media and social platforms says American actor Giancarlo Esposito has embraced Islam while working on a production project in Saudi Arabia, though there has been no independent confirmation from the actor or his representatives.

Saudi General Entertainment Authority chief Turki Al-Sheikh said Esposito spent time in the kingdom during the filming of a new project and was influenced by his interactions with Muslim colleagues.

According to Al-Sheikh’s statement, the actor allegedly recited the Islamic declaration of faith and later prayed with members of his production team at a mosque. A video circulating on social media appears to show Esposito and crew members participating in prayer.

The claims have not been independently verified, and Esposito has not publicly commented on the reports.

Social media users widely shared reactions to the footage, while fans of the actor  known for his roles in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The Mandalorian  debated the authenticity of the claims.
