Priyanka Chopra hints at upcoming Hollywood project with Angelina Jolie

LOS ANGELES:  Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas has revealed that she will soon be part of a Hollywood project that will also feature Oscar-winning star Angelina Jolie, sparking widespread speculation among fans across the globe.

Chopra, however, declined to share further details about the project, leaving uncertainty over whether the collaboration will be a feature film, a commercial campaign or a humanitarian initiative, as both actors are also known for their global philanthropic work.

During the interview, Chopra also mentioned actors Penélope Cruz and Salma Hayek, saying she draws inspiration from their careers and achievements.

The actor said the unnamed international project could mark a significant milestone in her career, adding that she now has greater freedom in selecting roles.

Chopra also reflected on her early transition from Bollywood to Hollywood, saying the scripts she initially received were not specifically written for her. She credited her husband, singer Nick Jonas, with helping her recognize her current position in the industry, where she can choose projects more selectively.

She is also reportedly preparing for a return to Indian cinema with director S.S. Rajamouli’s large-scale action-adventure film Varanasi, which has been shot across multiple international locations and is scheduled for global release on April 7, 2027.

Globally acclaimed Indian actress Priyanka Chopra has opened up about her decision to work in Hollywood, despite enjoying a successful career in Bollywood.

According to Indian media reports, Chopra shared in a recent interview that she never intended to leave Hindi cinema. However, while working in Bollywood, she often felt restricted for various reasons.

“I don’t think I ever wanted to leave Bollywood,” she said. “But while I was working in Hindi films, I felt limited in many ways.”

The actress explained that she wanted to broaden her creative horizons and explore opportunities that would allow her to grow as an artist. “I felt pushed to seek out the kind of opportunities I should be pursuing as a performer,” she added, noting that this eventually led her to the United States for work.

Reflecting on her journey, Chopra said more than 12 years have now passed since she began working internationally, and choosing meaningful projects remains a challenge.

Responding to another question, she emphasized her love for Indian cinema and expressed happiness about returning to India. “I don’t like choosing between Bollywood and Hollywood. I enjoy working in both industries,” she said.

Chopra further noted that working across two industries with different cultures has shaped her professionally. “Both industries function differently, but now my mind can operate in two distinct ways. It’s a unique, amazing, and fun experience,” she concluded.

Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra has addressed circulating rumors about her relationship with husband Nick Jonas, speaking openly for the first time about the speculations that have surrounded the couple since the beginning of their marriage.

According to reports from entertainment outlets, the 43-year-old actress responded to recent stories suggesting a possible separation, clarifying that such rumors have no basis.

Priyanka stated that she has never understood what aspects of their marriage bothered some people, suggesting that differences in cultural backgrounds may have contributed to unwarranted attention.

She acknowledged that discussions about differences in nationality, religion, culture, and age at the time of their wedding were at times uncomfortable. However, both she and Nick Jonas prioritized their relationship over outside opinions.

Priyanka emphasized that the couple has now completed eight years of marriage, and anyone still anticipating its end is entitled to their own opinion, but she prefers not to dwell on such thoughts.

The actress praised Nick Jonas for his sincerity and seriousness, qualities she noted were inherited from his parents.

She recalled that upon first meeting Nick, she did not realize he shared the same temperament and values as herself—an alignment that has strengthened their bond.

For context, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas married in 2018 in Rajasthan, India. At the time, Priyanka was 36 and Nick was 26. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Jonas, in January 2022.
