Skywatchers gear up for year’s first supermoon tonight

Skywatchers

ISLAMABAD: A breathtaking celestial event awaits stargazers tonight as the year’s first supermoon makes its appearance, shining bigger and brighter than a typical full moon.

According to a spokesperson for the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), during the supermoon, the Moon will be approximately 224,000 miles from Earth, appearing 6.6% larger and 13% brighter than a typical full moon.

The phenomenon will be visible in Pakistan as well. The supermoon will rise in the east shortly after sunset and set in the west before sunrise, giving observers ample time to witness the stunning sight.

According to SUPARCO, 2 more super monases will be seen this year. The brightest Super Moon of the year is expected on November 5, 2025, while the third Super Moon will be seen on December 5.

According to astronomers, the super moon appears when the moon is at the closest distance to the earth, which is the moon, which is why the moon looks significantly larger and bright than usual, which is why it is called Super Moon.

Apple Removes ICE Tracking Apps After Trump Administration Pressure

Washington, October 3, 2025 – Apple has removed ICE tracking apps from its App Store, including the widely used ICEBlock app, after pressure from the Trump administration and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The apps allowed users to track and report the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during raids.

According to Apple, the decision was made following concerns raised by U.S. law enforcement, which claimed the apps posed safety risks to ICE agents. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that Apple was asked to remove the applications, calling them a threat to national security and public safety.

The apps, especially ICEBlock, had more than 1 million downloads and were popular among immigrant communities and activists, who used them to share real-time alerts about ICE raids. Critics argue that Apple’s decision represents a serious blow to free speech, digital privacy, and civil liberties, while supporters say the apps could compromise law enforcement operations.

The developer of ICEBlock, Joshua Aaron, defended the app, saying it only provided crowdsourced information and did not endanger agents or promote violence. Civil rights groups have compared Apple’s move to its 2019 removal of the HKMap app during the Hong Kong protests, citing growing concerns about government pressure on Big Tech companies.

The removal has sparked a debate over the role of technology companies in law enforcement, censorship, and digital rights, with immigration activists accusing Apple of siding with the Trump administration instead of protecting vulnerable communities.

Sleep and Health – Why Good Sleep is More Powerful Than Medicine

Person sleeping peacefully in a dark, cozy bedroom environment.

Poor sleep affects immunity, mental health, and productivity. Explore the health risks of sleep deprivation and practical tips for better rest.

In today’s busy lifestyle, sleep and health are often overlooked. Yet, research shows that good sleep is more powerful than medicine when it comes to improving immunity, productivity, and mental wellness.

Why Sleep Matters

During sleep, the body repairs cells, strengthens memory, balances hormones, and restores energy. Adults generally need 7–9 hours of sleep per night, but many people get less than six hours, which severely affects health.

Health Risks of Poor Sleep

  • Higher risk of heart disease and diabetes
  • Weak immune system
  • Memory problems and lack of focus
  • Anxiety, stress, and depression
  • Weight gain due to hormone imbalance

Tips for Better Sleep

  1. Maintain a sleep schedule – go to bed and wake up at the same time daily.
  2. Limit screen time at least one hour before bed.
  3. Avoid caffeine and heavy meals in the evening.
  4. Create a calm sleep environment – dark, quiet, and cool room.
  5. Exercise regularly but not too close to bedtime.

Conclusion

When it comes to sleep and health, consistency matters most. By practicing good sleep hygiene, you can improve mood, focus, and protect yourself from long-term health problems.

OpenAI’s Operator AI agent performing tasks independently on a digital workspace.

OpenAI has announced a groundbreaking step in personal AI with the introduction of “Operator”, an autonomous AI agent designed to handle complex tasks independently across multiple digital platforms. This development promises to redefine how AI assistants interact with users and manage daily workflows.

Unlike traditional AI assistants that require constant user input, Operator can proactively perform tasks such as coding, scheduling, and workflow management without ongoing supervision. This move represents a significant step toward creating AI systems that are more integrated, efficient, and capable of autonomous decision-making.

The new AI agent is expected to be available as a research preview in January 2025, with API access for developers looking to integrate its functionalities into their applications. By making AI assistants more proactive, OpenAI aims to expand the scope of tasks that AI can handle, making them increasingly useful in professional and personal environments.

This launch reflects OpenAI’s broader strategy to enhance AI utility and autonomy, marking a shift from reactive assistants to AI agents that can anticipate user needs and act independently. Analysts suggest that this development could have major implications for sectors like software development, project management, and digital productivity.

As AI continues to evolve, Operator may pave the way for the next generation of personal assistants, combining intelligence, efficiency, and autonomy in a single platform.

Overview of the Saudi-Pakistan Defense Pact

The SMDA, signed on September 17, 2025, commits both nations to consider any attack on one as an act of aggression against both. The agreement has sparked discussions about its implications, particularly regarding Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif clarified that the pact does not involve sharing nuclear weapons with Saudi Arabia.
