MUMBAI: Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has rejected reports of a disagreement over the budget of the upcoming superhero film Krrish 4, calling the claims baseless.

Recent Indian media reports suggested that actor Hrithik Roshan, who is set to make his directorial debut with the film, had sought a budget of 5 billion Indian rupees ($60 million), while producer Aditya Chopra preferred to keep costs closer to 3.5 billion rupees, allegedly leading to differences over the project.

However, Rakesh Roshan denied the reports, saying there was no dispute regarding the film’s budget or production plans.

In an interview, he said claims that Hrithik had demanded a massive budget for world-class visual effects and action sequences were entirely incorrect and that no conflict existed between the actor and the production team.

Roshan noted that large-scale films require significant time and planning to meet audience expectations. He added that every installment of the Krrish franchise had been developed carefully rather than rushed into production.

Addressing speculation about delays, he said there were no disagreements among the team members and that work on the project was progressing smoothly.

“Krrish is in a world of its own, and we are all waiting for the right dates,” Roshan said, indicating that scheduling considerations were part of the planning process.

He added that the film was moving forward through the combined efforts of Aditya Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and the broader creative team.

The Krrish franchise began with Koi… Mil Gaya and continued with Krrish and Krrish 3. The series follows the adventures of Krishna Mehra, a superhero portrayed by Hrithik Roshan.
