CANBERRA: Australia’s Home Affairs, Immigration and Citizenship Minister Tony Burke has said that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is his favourite actor, describing himself as a big fan of the Indian film icon.
Speaking on an Indian podcast, Burke revealed that his all-time favourite Bollywood film is Om Shanti Om, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
During the conversation, hosted by Poon Luthra, the minister was asked about his favourite Bollywood movies, to which he first expressed admiration for Shah Rukh Khan’s work.
He also praised world-renowned composer A. R. Rahman, saying he particularly enjoys his musical soundtracks.
Among his favourite films, Burke ranked Chak De! India at the top, noting that it was shot in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, making it personally special for him.
He also appreciated historical drama Jodhaa Akbar, but ultimately named Om Shanti Om as his favourite.
Released in 2007 and directed by Farah Khan, Om Shanti Om starred Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone and became one of the highest-grossing films of its year.
