Imran Khan not negotiating any deal, says Barrister Gohar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan said Wednesday that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was not negotiating any deal.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, Gohar said the federal government’s review petition had not yet been assigned a number.

He urged the authorities to implement the Supreme Court’s order concerning Imran Khan’s medical treatment, saying it had taken considerable time for the matter to reach that stage.

Gohar said the authorities had fulfilled their commitment to facilitate a meeting between Imran Khan and his sister, Noreen Niazi, and praised them for honoring the commitment.

He said he had not spoken to Niazi after her meeting with Imran Khan, adding that she had respected his words by not discussing the meeting afterward.

Gohar reiterated that Imran Khan was not negotiating any deal and said the PTI founder’s continued imprisonment was unjust.

Barrister Saif meets Imran Khan at Adiala Jail

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif met party founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, sources said.

According to the sources, the meeting took place at the jail on Tuesday night, during which Saif briefed Imran Khan on matters concerning the PTI and other issues.

The sources said the meeting also included a discussion about Imran Khan’s health.

The meeting came a day after the Supreme Court ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to a private hospital and directed the formation of a medical board to assess his condition.

Following the court’s permission, Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, also met him at Adiala Jail on Tuesday.

Sources said Niazi met Imran Khan in the conference room, where they discussed his health and other matters. She also briefed him on the Supreme Court’s order.

The meeting between Niazi and Imran Khan lasted about 45 minutes, according to the sources.

After the meeting, Niazi reached Dahgal checkpoint but declined to speak to the media.

SC orders transfer of Imran Khan to private hospital

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court ordered authorities to transfer former Prime Minister Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital until the next hearing, citing concerns over his health and directing that a medical board be constituted for his treatment.

The court ordered that Khan be transferred from Adiala prison to the private hospital under strict security and directed authorities to ensure that law and order around the hospital was not disrupted.

The bench, comprising Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, also ordered authorities to provide Khan’s complete medical record before the next hearing.

Court raises concerns over Khan’s medical condition

Justice Shahid Waheed questioned why the court had not been provided Khan’s complete medical record, saying the material submitted so far was only a summary of his medical reports.

The judge said the medical reports indicated that Khan’s vital organs were beginning to be affected and questioned whether angiography could be performed while he remained in prison.

The Islamabad advocate general told the court that angiography could be conducted at a hospital outside the prison.

Court orders medical board, family meetings

The Supreme Court ordered the formation of a medical board to oversee Khan’s treatment and directed that his personal physician, Dr. Faisal Sultan, and Dr. Uzma Khan be given access to him.

The court also ordered that Khan’s family be allowed to meet him once a week and directed authorities to provide details of his meetings with family members over the past three years, including records of his telephone conversations with his children.

The court stressed that meetings with Khan’s sisters were a fundamental right and not a concession by the state.

PTI told not to politicize Khan’s health

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan told Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders not to politicize Khan’s health and said the focus should remain on his treatment and well-being.

PTI lawyer Uzair Bhandari assured the court that Khan’s doctors and family members would not hold media talks after meeting him.

PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja also assured the court that the party would not use Khan’s medical reports for political purposes.

The court directed the PTI and Khan’s family to provide assurances that medical reports would remain confidential and would not be used for political purposes.

PTI to bear private hospital expenses

During the hearing, the court asked who would bear the cost of treatment at the private hospital. Bhandari told the court that the expenses would be paid by Khan’s family and the PTI.

The court also directed that no political gatherings, media talks or press conferences be held outside the hospital, warning that the order could be withdrawn if its conditions were violated.

Court seeks details of Khan’s cases and meetings

The Supreme Court also sought complete details of Khan’s pending and decided cases, including the number in which he is facing trial, the cases in which he has been convicted and those in which his sentences have been suspended.

The court further sought records of Khan’s meetings at Adiala prison over the past three years and questioned why directions issued by the Islamabad High Court regarding meetings had allegedly not been implemented.

The hearing was adjourned until Sept. 16, with prison authorities also directed to appear before the court at the next hearing.

Adiala Jail rejects solitary confinement claim in Imran Khan case

ISLAMABAD: The superintendent of Adiala Jail has denied allegations that former Prime Minister Imran Khan is being held in solitary confinement, according to a report submitted to the Islamabad High Court.

The report states that Khan is free to move within a seven-cell compound from the time his lock-up opens in the morning until evening and that no inmate at Adiala Jail is being kept in solitary confinement.

According to the jail authorities, Khan is allowed to meet his wife, Bushra Bibi, every Tuesday in accordance with prison rules.

The report also says special security arrangements have been made due to his status as a former prime minister and leader of a political party, preventing access to his residential area by other inmates.

The superintendent said prison doctors examine Khan three times daily, checking his blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and other vital signs, while also inspecting his meals. A full-time convicted inmate prepares his meals according to his preferred menu.

The report further states that Khan has access to natural light, fresh air and outdoor exercise from sunrise to sunset. It urges the court to dismiss the petition filed by Aleema Khan, describing the allegations of solitary confinement as baseless.

The Islamabad High Court is scheduled to hear the petition on Thursday before Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro.

Imran Khan’s eye medical report reveals significant improvement

The medical report on former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s eye examination has been released, providing an update on his current ocular health.

A two-member medical board visited Adiala Jail to carry out the assessment, which was conducted on February 15, 2026.

The board comprised ophthalmology specialists Prof Dr Nadeem Qureshi from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Prof Dr Muhammad Arif Khan from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

Key Findings

Right-eye vision without glasses measured 6/24, while left-eye vision was 6/9.

With corrective lenses, the right-eye vision improved to 6/9, and the left eye reached full 6/6 acuity.

Examination revealed inflammation on the retina of the right eye, with a reduction in swelling and a decrease in retinal thickness from 550 to 350, indicating significant improvement.

Overall, vision in the affected right eye improved from 6/36 to 6/9, which experts consider satisfactory at this stage.

Treatment Recommendations

The medical board prescribed the following treatments:

Nevannak and Systane Ultra eye drops for both eyes

Co-Sopt eye drops exclusively for the right eye

Anti-VEGF therapy to be completed, followed by OCT angiography and FFA testing for further assessment

Follow-Up and Briefing

Following the examination, two opposition leaders, Allama Nasser Abbas and Barrister Gohar Khan, visited PIMS at 9 p.m. to receive a detailed briefing on Imran Khan’s ocular health. His personal physicians, Dr. Asim Yousuf and Dr. Khurram Mirza, were also present during the update.

According to the report, the attending doctors and PTI leaders expressed full satisfaction and confidence in the medical care, treatment plan, and ongoing follow-up.
