KARACHI: Several Pakistani showbiz personalities have come out in support of young fashion designer Preshay Adnan after television host Nadia Khan questioned her about her gym outfits and workout videos.
Preshay recently appeared on Nadia Khan’s program after showcasing her collection at New York Fashion Week.
During the interview, Nadia asked Preshay about her gym videos and clothing, including whether her parents objected to what she wore while working out.
Preshay said safety was certainly an important issue, but added that she had also received messages from both women and men who said her workout videos had inspired them to begin exercising and strength training.
Later, Preshay addressed the controversy on social media, saying she understood the intention behind the question but tried to remain calm during the interview.
Actress Hania Aamir also appeared to lend her support to Preshay. She shared her pictures on Instagram with a caption repeating, in a sarcastic tone, the same phrase Nadia had used while questioning the designer.
Yasir Hussain backs Preshay
Actor Yasir Hussain also appeared to support Preshay without directly naming Nadia Khan.
In a sarcastic social media post, he said that when a person has neither knowledge nor a script and is also under pressure to deliver ratings, their standards can decline.
Yashal Shahid takes a humorous jab
Singer Yashal Shahid adopted a humorous approach to the controversy by posting a video of herself exercising while wrapped in a blanket.
Her video appeared to mock the idea that women might have to cover themselves with blankets while working out to avoid criticism over their gym attire.
