US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 33%, its lowest level of his political career, according to a Reuters poll.
The survey found that 36% of independent voters said they would vote for Democratic candidates in the midterm elections, compared with 22% who said they would support Republican candidates.
The poll indicated that the war with Iran and Trump’s economic policies were among the main factors contributing to the decline in his approval rating.
Meanwhile, 71% of Americans said they were dissatisfied with Trump’s handling of inflation and the rising cost of everyday expenses.
Trump’s declining popularity ahead of the November midterm elections has welcomed news for Democrats, who are seeking to capitalize on growing public dissatisfaction with the administration.
