Rajab Butt faces backlash after admitting to cheating on wife

Rajab Butt faces

Pakistani family vlogger Rajab Butt has once again found himself at the centre of controversy after publicly admitting that he had cheated on his wife, Iman Fatima, triggering strong reactions on social media.

Rajab Butt has frequently made headlines due to his controversial persona, legal issues, and online disputes. Recently, his ongoing differences with his wife have also become a widely discussed topic.

The controversy initially intensified when reports circulated online alleging that Butt had been involved with another social media personality while his wife was pregnant.

According to media reports and social media discussions, his name was linked to influencer Fatima Khan during a period when Iman Fatima was expecting and Butt was reportedly abroad.

At the time, Rajab Butt did not comment extensively on the matter but stated that the alleged relationship had ended before his marriage. Earlier, Iman Fatima’s brother also spoke publicly about the issue, referring to claims of infidelity.

However, Butt has now acknowledged in a recent statement that he did betray his wife. He said that he had publicly apologised for his actions and that Iman Fatima had forgiven him.

During the conversation, Butt also said he did not fully understand why his wife had chosen to forgive him, adding that despite granting forgiveness, she had asked him for an iPhone 17.

Following his remarks, social media users reacted strongly online. Pakistani actress Kiran Ashfaque also commented on the matter, saying she had “never seen a worse person,” while many users expressed sympathy for Iman Fatima and criticised Butt’s actions.

Faisal Qureshi urges Pakistani cricketers to speak Urdu with pride

Faisal Qureshi

Renowned Pakistani actor Faisal Qureshi has urged national cricketers to take pride in their mother tongue and speak Urdu during public appearances and media interactions.

Qureshi, who is currently hosting a show on a private television channel where he invites guests to discuss various topics, recently highlighted the importance of promoting the national language.

A video clip from the show has gone viral on social media in which the actor stresses the value of Urdu and encourages Pakistani cricketers to confidently use it.

Addressing the players, Qureshi said he particularly wants Pakistani cricketers to speak Urdu and take pride in their language and identity.

He pointed out that internationally renowned footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi usually communicate in their native languages rather than switching to English unnecessarily.

“I have never seen Ronaldo, Messi or other major players speaking English without reason. They speak their own language, and the other person can arrange a translator if needed,” he said.

The actor further emphasized that people should feel proud of Urdu as Pakistan’s national language, adding that not speaking English should not be considered a problem since English is not the country’s mother tongue.

Shah said that initially he felt the marriage might not work, and eventually both decided to part ways as continuing the relationship became increasingly difficult.

The topic resurfaced recently when Jamal Shah and Feryal Gohar appeared together in a private TV channel’s Ramadan transmission. During the programme, Feryal Gohar remarked that marrying Jamal Shah had been “a wrong decision” in her life.

Once considered one of the showbiz industry’s most admired couples, Jamal Shah and Feryal Gohar eventually separated in 1992.

Pakistan raises petrol, diesel prices by Rs55 per litre

Pakistan raises petrol

The government of Pakistan has announced a sharp increase in petroleum product prices, raising the rates of petrol and diesel by Rs55 per litre due to the ongoing regional situation and rising global fuel prices.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Islamabad by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik.

Speaking at the briefing, Ishaq Dar said the region is facing a war-like situation, which has pushed petroleum prices sharply upward in international markets.

He added that Shehbaz Sharif is deeply concerned about the situation and personally chaired a meeting earlier in the day to review the matter.

Dar said the government had to carefully assess how much the prices should be increased in order to find a balanced solution.

He also noted that Pakistan has been in contact with foreign ministers of several countries as part of diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.

“The prime minister and the field marshal are also in contact with their counterparts in different countries,” he said, adding that authorities are reviewing the situation daily as global petroleum prices continue to surge.

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the country is currently going through extraordinary circumstances, as the situation in neighbouring regions has affected the entire area.

He stated that the government had already increased national fuel reserves in anticipation of potential supply disruptions and is working to manage the situation with a strategic approach.

The minister said the decision to increase fuel prices was difficult but necessary, adding that prices would be reduced quickly once the situation improves. He also confirmed that the government will now review petroleum prices on a weekly basis.

Following the increase, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs321.17 per litre, while diesel will now cost Rs335.86 per litre.

Video shows Trump prayed over by pastors amid US-Israeli strikes on Iran

Video shows Trump

A video released by White House officials has gone viral, showing US President Donald Trump surrounded by a group of pastors praying over him in the Oval Office, as US and Israeli military operations against Iran enter their seventh day.

Critics have warned that the offensive risks worsening humanitarian conditions and further destabilizing an already tense region.

The video, shared by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, shows a prayer circle of prominent religious leaders from across the United States. President Trump sits behind his desk with his eyes closed while Pastor Tom Mullins leads the ceremony.

Pastor Mullins said: “We are honoured to come before Your presence today, lifting up the arms of our president. We pray for Your continued blessing and favour to rest upon him. We pray for wisdom from heaven to flood his heart and mind and for Your guidance during these challenging times.” He also prayed for the protection of US troops and for the president to lead the nation with strength and grace.

The strikes have heightened tensions across the Middle East, with analysts warning that continued retaliatory attacks could prolong the cycle of conflict.

According to the US Department of Defense, Operation Epic Fury is targeting Iran’s missile programs, production facilities, and naval assets.

Following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint US-Israeli airstrike on Tehran, Iran has launched a series of missile and drone attacks on Israel and Gulf states, including the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, claiming to target American facilities in retaliation.

The US confirmed that six soldiers were killed when a drone struck a facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait. Critics argue that the human and infrastructural toll underscores the urgent need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

PM approves weekly pricing mechanism for petroleum products

PM approves weekly

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a weekly pricing mechanism for petroleum products in view of the evolving regional situation and potential energy challenges.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the committee on petroleum product stocks and consumption, chaired by the prime minister in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the finance minister briefed the premier on the current fuel supply situation and policy options.

According to sources, the committee presented recommendations regarding weekly adjustments in petroleum prices, which were approved by the prime minister.

Under the proposed framework, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will review and recommend weekly petroleum price adjustments. After ECC approval, the final summary will be submitted to the federal cabinet for formal approval.

Sources added that a comprehensive plan aimed at addressing potential energy challenges—similar to measures adopted during the COVID-19 period—has been finalized and may be announced soon.

The prime minister also directed the finance minister to consult with provincial governments and present a proposal on work-from-home arrangements for offices by Monday. Additionally, a plan for virtual learning in educational institutions is also under consideration.

Officials believe these measures could help reduce fuel demand and ensure efficient use of existing petroleum stocks.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Petroleum informed the meeting that the country currently has adequate petroleum reserves to meet national requirements.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further instructed authorities to take strict legal action against hoarders of petroleum products. He directed that petrol pumps found involved in creating artificial shortages should be immediately shut down.

The prime minister also ordered the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to cancel the licenses of petrol pumps involved in artificial shortages and initiate legal proceedings against them.

He directed the petroleum minister to visit provinces and coordinate with provincial governments to develop a strategy ensuring fuel conservation and uninterrupted supply to the public.

Furthermore, the prime minister instructed authorities to establish a digital dashboard to monitor the movement of petroleum products, allowing real-time data sharing with provincial governments to ensure transparent monitoring of fuel transportation across the country.

Minab school attack may be linked to US military operation: report

Minab school attack

A deadly attack on a school in the southern Iranian city of Minab on February 28 is being described as the deadliest civilian casualty incident so far in the ongoing US-Israeli strikes on Iran, with 175 students reportedly killed.

No party has officially claimed responsibility for the strike. However, a report by the American newspaper The New York Times suggests that satellite imagery, social media posts, and verified videos indicate the school building was directly targeted.

The attack occurred while a nearby naval base operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was also under attack.

According to the report, statements from US officials acknowledging strikes on naval targets near the Strait of Hormuz have raised the possibility that the school strike may have been linked to the broader military operation.

Satellite imagery analysis cited by the newspaper shows that the building was once part of the IRGC naval base in 2013, with roads connecting it to other sections of the facility. However, the structure was reportedly separated from the base in 2016.

Further satellite evidence shows the presence of a playground and other recreational facilities, indicating that the building was functioning as an educational institution at the time of the strike.

The report noted that if it is confirmed the school was hit by US munitions, serious questions would arise about whether the strike occurred by mistake or was based on outdated intelligence.
