Pakistani youth breaks silence on baseless propaganda from India, Afghanistan

SYDNEY: Social media accounts in India and Afghanistan have circulated false claims linking a Pakistani youth to the recent deadly Sydney shooting.

According to reports, several Indian and Afghan social media users circulated images and claims alleging that Naveed Akram, a Pakistani youth residing in Sydney, was involved in the attack. Naveed Akram has strongly rejected the allegations, calling them completely false and misleading.

In a video message, Naveed Akram exposed the propaganda, stating that his photograph was being misused to spread lies. He clarified that he has no connection whatsoever with terrorism or the Sydney shooting, warning that the baseless claims have put his personal safety and reputation at serious risk. He also appealed for an immediate end to the false campaign on social media.

Earlier, Australian police officially declared the Sydney beach shooting a terrorist incident, confirming that the attackers were a father and son. Police have also announced that the search for additional suspects has been concluded.

The shooting incident, which took place at a Sydney beach, resulted in 16 people being killed and 40 others injured. One attacker was shot dead during police action, while the second was arrested in an injured condition.

Meanwhile, Australian media highlighted an act of extraordinary bravery during the attack. A local citizen, 43-year-old Ahmed Al Ahmed, was hailed as a hero after risking his life to overpower one of the attackers and seize his weapon, saving several lives. Ahmed, a fruit vendor in Sydney and father of two, sustained two gunshot wounds to his arm and is currently receiving treatment in hospital, where he is reported to be out of danger.

Abhishek Bachchan breaks silence on false divorce rumours

Abhishek Bachchan

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has finally responded firmly to the fabricated divorce rumours surrounding him and his wife, Aishwarya Rai.

According to Indian media, Abhishek said in an interview that being a celebrity means people will always speculate. “Whatever nonsense is written about us is false, baseless, wrong, and filled with malice,” he stated.

He added that the media behaved the same way before their marriage — first predicting when they would marry, and now speculating about divorce. “It’s all rubbish,” he said.

Abhishek emphasised that both he and Aishwarya know each other’s truth and share a happy, peaceful family. “That’s what matters — the rest is meaningless,” he added.

When asked whether such rumours cause mental stress, he replied, “If even a little of it were true, maybe it would affect me. But since it’s all lies, it doesn’t matter.”

Regarding their daughter Aaradhya, Abhishek said she is not affected as she does not use a phone, and Aishwarya has taught her not to believe everything on the internet.

For months, social media speculation suggested trouble between the couple, despite them consistently appearing happy together with family.

Abhishek and Aishwarya married in 2007 and welcomed their daughter Aaradhya in 2011.

Abhishek Bachchan will soon be seen in the upcoming film King, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji and Suhana Khan.
