RAWALPINDI: Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah sustained a knee injury during an Pakistan Super League Season 11 match against Islamabad United while fielding, raising concerns over his availability for upcoming fixtures.

The pacer, representing Rawalpiniz, managed to bowl only two overs before leaving the field due to discomfort.

According to the team’s media manager, Naseem Shah suffered a knee injury during fielding, and the medical team is currently assessing his condition. Further updates will be provided in due course.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has reportedly had his NOC for PSL withdrawn, ruling him out of the remaining matches. Another Bangladeshi pacer, Nahid Rana, has also returned home, further impacting squad availability.

KARACHI: Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League for an indefinite period due to injury.

Franchise Rawalpindi Pindiz confirmed the development, stating that Naseem sustained a side injury during a match against Karachi Kings.

According to team management, the fast bowler will remain unavailable until further notice. The medical staff is closely monitoring his recovery, with hopes that he may return in the later stages of the tournament after completing rehabilitation and obtaining fitness clearance.

The franchise also expressed full support for Naseem Shah, assuring that he will receive complete backing throughout his recovery period.

Mohammad Rizwan reaches major milestone with 100 ODI appearances

KARACHI: Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan achieved a significant career milestone on Sunday as he completed 100 One-Day International (ODI) matches.

Before the start of the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka, a special ceremony was held on the field to honour Rizwan’s achievement. Head coach Mike Hesson praised the cricketer’s contributions, saying Rizwan has “always brought energy to the ground” and highlighted his strong passion for representing Pakistan.

On the occasion, pacer Naseem Shah presented Rizwan with a commemorative cap marking his 100th ODI appearance, while teammates congratulated him on reaching the landmark.

Rizwan has scored 2,921 runs in his 100 ODI matches so far.
