Veteran actor Anil

MUMBAI: Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has revealed that he declined a cameo role in the sequel of the upcoming film Dhurandhar 2, calling it a missed opportunity on his part.

The 69-year-old actor said he was approached by filmmaker Aditya Dhar for a brief appearance in the film, which is reportedly based on the gang wars of Lyari in Karachi.

Speaking to Indian media, Kapoor said he liked the offer but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts.

“Aditya Dhar came to me for Dhurandhar 2 and wanted me to do a small cameo in the film. I liked the proposal, but I couldn’t do it because I had already committed my dates to another filmmaker,” he said.

Kapoor emphasized that professional integrity and honoring commitments have been key to his career. “What I am today is because of my professional honesty and keeping my promises. Talent alone does not make you successful,” he added.

Actress Hina Afridi hits back at critics over Nikkah jewelry

Actress Hina Afridi

KARACHI: Pakistani actress Hina Afridi has responded strongly to critics who targeted her over the jewelry she wore at her nikkah ceremony.

The actress recently appeared on the comedy show Hansna Mana Hai hosted by Tabish Hashmi, where she took part in various games and answered questions from the audience while also speaking about her marriage.

During the program, a female audience member asked Hina Afridi how she dealt with the criticism surrounding her nikkah jewelry.

Responding to the question, the actress said she paid little attention to the criticism. “If people didn’t like my jewelry, that’s their problem, not mine,” she remarked, adding that newlyweds are usually too busy with wedding rituals to spend time checking social media.

Tabish Hashmi also referred to a viral video from her nikkah in which she was seen jokingly demanding a monthly allowance of Rs500,000, business-class travel and other privileges from her husband.

Reacting to the clip, Hina Afridi said it is every woman’s right to ask for anything from her husband. She added humorously that people are still unaware of the demands she made off-camera. “If they hear those, they might be shocked,” she joked.

Zendaya sparks marriage rumours with Tom Holland after showing wedding band at event

Zendaya sparks

Zendaya appears to have subtly confirmed her reported marriage to Tom Holland after displaying what looked like a wedding band during a public appearance at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards on Thursday, March 12.

The moment occurred during the ceremony when host Marsai Martin playfully addressed Zendaya, referring to her as her “cousin.” Martin joked about the actress’ famously private personal life before asking her to “give me a sign.”

In response, Zendaya smiled shyly and raised her hand toward the camera, seemingly revealing a wedding band. The gesture quickly drew cheers and applause from the audience at the Los Angeles event.

According to reports from attendees, Zendaya was also overheard receiving congratulations and well wishes from fellow guests during the ceremony, further fueling speculation that the couple may have secretly tied the knot.

For the event, the Euphoria star wore a white, flower-adorned minidress designed by Eugene Alexander. The dress has a notable fashion history—it was previously worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the 2008 film Sex and the City and traces back even further to a longer version worn by Whitney Houston in the late 1980s.

Speculation about the marriage intensified earlier in the week when Zendaya was photographed at a Louis Vuitton fashion show on March 10 wearing a thin gold band on her left hand while her engagement ring was noticeably missing. The new ring stood out among the other jewelry she typically wears.

Rumours about the couple’s wedding had already been circulating since early March. At the 2026 Actor Awards on March 1, Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach told reporters that the wedding had already taken place.

“The wedding has already happened,” he said on the red carpet, jokingly adding that people had missed it. When asked to confirm the claim, he replied that it was “very true.”

Zendaya and Tom Holland reportedly became engaged on Zendaya’s birthday in 2024, when Holland proposed with a ring that now appears to have been replaced by the simple band she recently displayed.

Despite Ban, Many Australian teens under 16 continue using social media

Despite Ban

A significant number of Australian teenagers under the age of 16 continued using social media platforms even two months after the country introduced a ban restricting access for minors, according to new industry data, raising concerns about the effectiveness of age-verification systems.

A report by parental control software company Qustodio revealed that more than one-fifth of teenagers aged 13 to 15 were still active on popular platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat between December and February, despite the restrictions.

The findings provide some of the earliest insights into how young users’ online behaviour has changed since Australia implemented the social media ban in December. The policy has drawn global attention, with several governments considering similar measures to protect minors online.

According to the report, the number of teenagers aged 13–15 using Snapchat dropped by 13.8 percentage points from November to February, bringing the total to about 20.3%. Usage of TikTok among the same age group also declined by 5.7 percentage points, falling to 21.2%.

Meanwhile, usage of YouTube among teenagers dipped slightly by one percentage point to 36.9%, although the data did not confirm whether these users were logged into accounts. The Australian law still allows people of all ages to access YouTube without logging in.

Under the new regulations, major platforms including Meta’s Instagram, Facebook, and Threads, along with TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube, must block users under the age of 16 or face fines of up to A$49.5 million (about $35 million).

A spokesperson for Australia’s internet regulator, the eSafety Commissioner, said authorities were aware that some minors were still able to access social media and were actively working with platforms and age-verification providers to monitor compliance and address potential violations of the law.

The office said it was reviewing multiple data sources and insights to assess whether companies are properly enforcing the restrictions.

A spokesperson for Communications Minister Anika Wells acknowledged that raising the minimum age for social media access represents a cultural shift that will take time to fully implement.

The data also suggested that social media use among teenagers typically declines during December and January due to Australia’s long summer school holidays. However, the sharper drop compared to the previous year indicates the ban may have had some effect.

Despite earlier concerns, the report found little evidence that teenagers were shifting to unregulated platforms. However, usage of WhatsApp among 13- to 15-year-olds showed a slight increase during the same period

Kerry Katona praises Katie Price as ‘The Love of My Life’

Kerry Katona praises

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona has spoken warmly about her close friendship with media personality Katie Price, describing her as “the love of my life” and one of the most loyal friends she has ever had.

During a recent appearance on the Zingo Bingo video series Your Era, Katona reflected on their long-standing bond and the unique connection they share after spending decades in the public eye.

Speaking about Price, Katona said she deeply values their friendship and believes few people truly understand the pressures of fame the way they understand each other.

“She’s the most loyal friend in the world. There’s no one else who understands what it’s like being in this industry the way we do,” she said.

Katona also recalled the intense media attention both stars faced during the height of their careers in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She said that period was overwhelming, revealing that dozens of photographers used to wait outside her home every day.

Looking back, she said she feels emotional but proud to have been part of what she described as a nostalgic era of pop culture, when pop stars attracted huge public attention and fans often sent handwritten letters.

Earlier this year, Katona and Price took their friendship to the stage by embarking on a UK tour together, where they openly discussed different aspects of their personal and professional lives.

Katona explained that the 38-day tour strengthened their friendship, although the demanding travel schedule made the experience exhausting. She said the purpose of organizing the tour was to inspire people to support and uplift one another.

She also defended Price against criticism she often receives online, praising her resilience and determination to keep moving forward despite public backlash.

According to Katona, women should support each other and encourage one another rather than compete or bring each other down.

Meanwhile, Katona has also hinted at possible plans to move abroad next year with her boyfriend, Paolo Margaglione, along with their children.
